Last year, Linebaugh Public Libraries launched a new e-card option which gives students and teachers access to thousands of resources without ever having to walk into a library with an LPLS, "virtual" library card. Linebaugh e-card is an online-use-only library card that provides access to all LPLS online resources, including eBooks and downloadable audiobooks through OverDrive/R.E.A.D.S., digital magazines through Flipster, and all online database resources. They soon will offer streaming services (including videos and graphic novels) through Hoopla in the coming months.
Those who do not already have a LPLS library card can apply online by visiting www.linebaugh.org and then receive their card number to use in accessing resources. The new cards must be updated on an annual basis, just like a regular library card. A virtual card holder can easily visit any of four (soon to be five) branches to "upgrade" their card to enable them to check out items or use public computers.
Attached below are library card applications in English, Spanish, & Arabic for the standard card. These applications may be completed and sent back to the library so they can enter them in their system. A standard library card allows anyone to check out, “physical” materials and computer access at any library locations:
